OCTOBER 5th - 13th, 2019

On this adventure retreat, led by Gioconda Parker, Sarah Martin, and Amara Risa, you will experience the glory of India's landscape, it's rich traditions and remarkable people. You’ll have space for peace and contemplation with  opportunities to practice yoga asana, with guided meditation and the healing practices of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra offered throughout the retreat as well.

Kerala is an enchantingly beautiful, emerald green state on the Tropical Malabar Coast of India. It is known for its gorgeous and exotic beaches, breathtaking hill stations, enchanting waterfalls, beautiful lagoons, and meandering rivers. Kerala is also famous for its Ayurvedic treatments, high mountains, gorges and deep-cut valleys, and lush and evergreen rain forest.

We will begin our journey in Cochin (Kochi), an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward. Cochin has an intriguing mix of giant fishing nets from China, a 400-year-old synagogue, ancient mosques, Portuguese houses and the crumbling remains of the British Raj.

Our next stop will be the rolling hills and pristine valleys of Munnar, South india’s largest tea-growing region. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, situated at the confluence of three mountain streams, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the British rulers in the colonial days. We will then head to Marari beach, close to Alleppey, for some leisure time on this quiet expanse of sand and wide open Arabian Sea. From here we will cruise through the famous Vembanad lake, gliding through the tranquil backwaters and enjoying the village life. We will end our journey back in Cochin before departing for home.

Whether you’re visiting to experience the colorful traditions of India or seeking answers to life’s deepest questions, India has a way of awakening you to a deeper state of awareness.
